Multifactor Authentication (MFA) is mandatory for all VCC students, alumni, applicants, and employees to ensure account security. Detailed setup instructions can be found in the Student MFA Setup Instructions document.
Applicants, alumni, and current VCC students
If you have fully registered, your VCC student account should be active 30 days before your first class begins.
Your first login should be done at my.vcc.ca. Continue reading for important information about your username and password.
Your username is the same for all VCC online systems. Read below for how your access changes as you move through your experience at VCC.
- Applicants
You have a username only until you are accepted, you do not have an email address yet. Your UserID will have been provided to you via email during the application process and the format will be similar to this studentID@student.vcc.ca (e.g. 000123456@student.vcc.ca). MFA setup will happen at this stage, please see the top of this page for information about MFA. - Students
Your UserID remains the same and is active for 3 years after your last class at VCC. Once 3 years have passed, you will no longer have access to VCC’s electronic systems. If you have any inquiries about your past activity or student records, you will need to call the college and speak to the relevant department at 604.871.7000. - Alumni

VCC Employees
Your account should be active on your first day of employment.
Your first login should be done at my.vcc.ca. Continue reading for important information about your username and password.
Almost all VCC systems now use Microsoft Entra authentication. Your username, in most cases, will be userid@vcc.ca (e.g., jsmith@vcc.ca), but sometimes, like when logging on to a computer, your username will simply be your userID (e.g., jsmith). Your department and onboarding training will be able to advise you on which format to use and when.
Your email address is formatted as first initial plus last name (e.g., rcochrane@vcc.ca). Employees with more common names may get email addresses that include additional letters from their first name (e.g., John Smith may be johsmith@vcc.ca)
Your first-time password is provided to you by your manager.
VCC provides a fast and simple way to reset your password while protecting your identity. Please visit Password Reset Tool to reset your password.
